Really Funny Poems for
Special Occasions

Really Funny Poems Hippo

Really funny poems for some of those special moments in life, everything from graduations and weddings to Saturday night baths and even those special moments in the waiting room.

Let’s get right to those Saturday night baths. Unfortunately, it’s all based on personal real-life experience. Not everything was so good in the good old days.

The Infrequent Bathing Trilogy
By Tom Mulhern

I. Things Could Have Been Worse (And Were)

Back in the day, when I was a lad
We used to bathe once a week
Which improved upon the youth of my Dad
When he claims they bathed in the creek.

II. Limited Advantage

The best thing about bathing just once a week
Is that you rarely had to wash and hang clothes
The bad part is that when you started to reek
You needed the clothespins for your nose.

III. And The Last Shall Be . . . Still Dirty

I know we were frugal and yes, times were tough
But one thing I found hard to bear
As if bathing once a week wasn’t bad enough
The same water we all had to share.

In the Waiting Room
By Tom Mulhern

In the waiting room I’m spending
Minutes I had not planned lending
Even if they get on track
I won’t get my minutes back.

Comforting Words From The Receptionist

We’re running a bit behind
We hope that you don’t mind
But if it troubles you
Here’s what you can do
You can have your say
On this ten-page survey
While you sit there stewing
Please tell us how we’re doing.
