Funny Friendship Poems

funny friendship poems ducklings

These funny friendship poems will make you feel warm and fuzzy all over. Or perhaps not. What they really do is put the spotlight on what’s funny about friends. And let’s face it, friendship without humor would be, well, not very friendly.

First up is a poem about a friendship ritual that seems universal and cross-cultural. It may even be primordial, but there’s not a lot of hard data to support that assertion.

What Else Is There To Talk About?
By Tom Mulhern

My friends and me
We share the same vice
And it’s not drinking
Or rolling the dice
What we like to do
When each other we’re near
Is discuss other friends
Who right now aren’t here.

Now on to a funny poem about friendship in the digital age.

They’re Probably Working On That
By Tom Mulhern

My social networks
Have all gone online
And for the most part
It suits me just fine

When friendships are virtual
There’s less baggage to lug
Now I just need a computer
That can give me a hug

The following funny friendship poems entry describes a scene of convivial good cheer at the restaurant, as observed from a neighboring table.

Alone At The Restaurant
By Tom Mulhern

Waiter, please, just look at that table
I’ve observed their carousing as long as I’m able

They’re drinking too much and talking too loud
Joking and laughing, an unruly crowd

It’s not that I want their party to poop
Do you think they might let me join their group?

Begging for friendship is not a particularly effective strategy, but that doesn’t keep it from being widely employed, as the next poem illustrates.

Please Be My Friend
By Tom Mulhern

Won’t you be my best friend
From now until the world might end?
Until the mountains wash to the sea
Will our friendship steady be?

Until the stars fall from the sky
Will our best-friend banner fly?
And if that’s longer than you seek
How about until sometime next week?
