The poem:
Alastair Robertson at 60
By Tom Mulhern
Born on the 17th of March in 1950
Alastair Robertson is now turning sixty
A good round number, but no reason to slow down
Not when there’s a hockey game to be found
We’re told his golf is better than ever
And he stays on the squash court for what seems like forever
At least that's what his friends say, but we can’t verify
Because Alastair himself is out gazing at the sky
Looking for Lucy’s diamonds, high over the land
From Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band
Alastair likes to control the TV remote
And he’s always up for holidays, by plane, train or boat
He loves a good pub quiz, even when it gets tricky
But he’s loved even more by Moria, Louise and Vicky.
