Birthday Number 55

To get this section of the web site started, I'm entering a poem that I wrote for the 55th birthday of my wife. Many happy more, Yolanda!

It's your birthday and here at our house
It means that it's time for a note from your spouse
Filled with expressions of my love and good cheer
And all my best wishes for this brand new year

But this birthday is special, not run of the mill
Nor does it suggest that you're over the hill
For this is the day that you turn fifty-five
Which is just the right speed, if you're out for a drive

Because you'll get there on time, but still safe and sound
Ready for action when your feet hit the ground
And action is just what your life is designed for
Or that's how it seemed back when you were just fifty-four.
